Latha Rajinikanth gets bail in Kochadaiyan case. Latha Rajinikanth, the spouse of the renowned actor Rajinikanth, has been granted conditional bail by a Bengaluru court after a decade-long legal battle involving a forgery case related to Rajinikanth's film 'Kochadaiiyaan.' Addressing the media, she vehemently refuted all allegations against her, attributing the legal challenges to the scrutiny faced by celebrities.

'Kochadaiiyaan,' a 3D animated period action film directed by Rajinikanth's daughter, Soundarya, made its debut in 2014, receiving a mixed response from critics and audiences. The ambitious project was a collaborative effort between Eros International, Media One Global Entertainment, and Sunil Lulla, Sunanda Murali Manohar, and Prashita Chaudhary.

The legal predicament emerged when Chennai-based Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd filed a case against Media One and Latha Rajinikanth, accusing them of fraudulent practices concerning a Rs 10 crore loan extended to Murali of Media One, with Latha Rajinikanth acting as a guarantor.

Appearing in the Bengaluru court on December 26, Latha Rajinikanth asserted her detachment from the financial matters, stating, "During 'Kochadaiiyaan' time, Media One's Jayakumar and Murali borrowed money for which I was the guarantor. Once they settled, I was happy. There was no connection with after the settlement."

Addressing the complainant, she accused them of altering the agreement and presenting new allegations, emphasizing that the Supreme Court had exempted her from appearing in the case. Despite her efforts to disprove any association through a forensic report on handwriting, she expressed the enduring humiliation and harassment faced by her family.

The Bengaluru court granted Latha Rajinikanth conditional bail, requiring a bond of Rs 1 lakh and a cash payment of Rs 25,000. Reflecting on her ordeal, she remarked, "For me, it's a case of humiliation and harassment and exploitation of a popular person. This is the price we pay for being celebrities. So there may not be a big case, but the news becomes very big. There is no fraudulence. I have nothing to do with the money."

The next hearing for the 'Kochadaiiyaan' forgery case has been postponed to January 6, leaving the legal saga poised for further developments in the new year.
