Gone are the days where music from Maestro Ilayaraja was itself treated as half of the success for any of the movies. With flow of young talents and fast generation, music has transcended all the boundaries. Though many understand that Music Direction is all about offering the tunes; here is where difference of Ilayaraja can be still felt.

Yes, young director Praveen Sri is getting all praises for his taste of pulling Ilayaraja onto the board for ‘Gaayam 2.’ The super success of ‘Gaayam 1’ is primarily credited to strong background and re-recording. In order not to disrespect that splendid work of Varma, ‘Gaayam 2’ surely required someone like Ilayaraja and the output, if viewed in theatres today is surely amazing.

Especially, the orchestrisation of Ilayaraja in the song ‘Endukamma Prema Prema…’ remembers his 1980’s memories. Irrespective of the result or mouth talk of ‘Gaayam 2,’ Praveen Sri seems to be  the man of worth who proved it that Ilayaraja is still a treasure who can be further dug for getting out the musical wealth. Long ago, same such feat was done by Krishna Vamsi who used Ilayaraja for his ‘Anthahpuram’ which has got rocking response.
