Is this song worth Rs. 5 crore?

The much spoken theme song of Common Wealth Games (CWG) composed by AR Rahman is getting thumbs down response from all sections of India including politicians and Rahman Fans. Now, this song ‘Swagatham’ aka ‘Jiyo Utho Bado Jeeto’ has been considered less in online popularity compared to that of Shakira’s ‘Waka Waka.’

After the launch of track three days ago, Vijaykumar Malhotra, board member of CWG organising committee (OC) claimed, ‘we expected a better song from a composer of Rahman’s status. He has given some very good songs like ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ but this song is not that impressive.’

One more section of musicians and singers like Kailash Kher commented that Rs. 5 crore for this song is shocking to hear. While Lous Banks directly insults Rahman calling, ‘this song can be composed in minutes but what made Rahman to work for six months is not understood. If you are truly inspired, it takes ten minutes to compose a tune.’

Now, let us wait for few more days to know how ‘Jiyo Utho Bado Jeeto’ will progress forward? With the early talk, it is for sure that ‘Rahmania’ is fading down very quickly, even after mediocre response of ‘Robot’ and ‘Komaram Puli.’
