A note shared by Aamir Khan Productions on their social media platforms reads, "I, and the entire team at AKP, are most excited and happy to announce our next, starring Sunny Deol, directed by Raj Kumar Santoshi, titled Lahore, 1947. We look forward to collaborating with the immensely talented Sunny and one of my favorite directors, Raj Santoshi. The journey we have embarked on promises to be most enriching. We seek your blessings."

Santoshi and Sunny Deol have a history of delivering box office hits together with films like 'Ghayal,' 'Damini,' and 'Ghatak.' Given their impressive track record, it's only natural to anticipate that 'Lahore, 1947' will be nothing short of epic.

This project also marks the reunion of Aamir Khan and Santoshi after their iconic cult classic, 'Andaz Apna Apna.' The chemistry between this director-actor duo has been nothing short of magical.

Notably, Sunny Deol recently shattered box office records with 'Gadar 2,' grossing over Rs 500 crore and becoming the second highest-grossing film ever, not just of the year. What adds a unique twist to this announcement is the fact that Sunny Deol and Aamir Khan have previously engaged in iconic box-office clashes as competitors in the past. These epic showdowns include 'Dil' vs. 'Ghayal' in 1990, 'Raja Hindustani' vs. 'Ghatak' in 1996, and the legendary face-off of 'Lagaan' vs. 'Gadar' in 2001. Now, for the very first time, these two Bollywood giants are joining forces on a project, promising a double bonanza for fans of both Sunny and Aamir. The anticipation for 'Lahore, 1947' is undoubtedly at an all-time high.
