O Sthree Repu Raa Review, What’s Behind: Horror Thrillers within stipulated budgets from fresh coming talent is the new aura in Tollywood. One more such film joins the same list and this time its director Ashok Reddy and his film title is the USP. Let’s get into the review.

O Sthree Repu Raa Story: Story begins with a lovely pair Srinu and Kalyani visiting a deadly place outside the city where Kalyani behaves aberrantly. Into present, Monika (Deeksha Panth) is a struggling writer making trials to get her story published in a weekly. However, publisher impressed by Monika’s writing skill allocates a new duty to make a story on ‘O Sthree Repu Raa,’ an untold mystery which rocked few districts in Andhra Pradesh state during 1990s. Monika, her boyfriend (Asish Gandhi) and few more friends play spirit game with Ouija board to invite the real devil behind ‘O Sthree Repu Raa’ where the actual flashback of Srinu (Vamsi Krishna) and Kalyani (Shruthi Mole) unveils. How Monika ends the story is rest.

O Sthree Repu Raa Overall Analysis: As we all know, O Sthree Repu Raa is a popular line written on doors and compound walls of many houses with no proper logic and story explained behind. This makes storyline quite interesting. However, debutant director Ashok Reddy diluted the exciting theme with hopeless fiction sub plot and his direction was completely immature. Take off was really good and there on entry of main characters followed by their horrible acting talents makes the show impotent. Neither there was a screenplay nor a proper direction. Story flows on turbidly without setting any mood. Its’ very much known that Ashok Reddy first made this subject as a short film and succeeded. Later, he pulled the string into feature film with meager budget. With less than 1 Crore budget Ashok Reddy should at least know what’s the best area to invest. Pulling a love story in flashback and gluing it to present is a familiar screenplay which requires minimum budget to create an impression. With low quality cinematography and editing departments, narration never makes viewers sit comfortably. Music director Ghantasala Vishwanath used all sound tracks available at his disposal for BGM without the situational demand. Production standards are at their lowest ebb.

On to performances, Deeksha Panth is still to learn basics in acting. Unnecessary heroism on Asish Gandhi is unforgivable. Vamsi Krishna and Shruti Mole behaved out of our nativity yet they were fine to an extent. Rest no need to mention.

O Sthree Repu Raa… title sounds intriguing because our generation stood as real eye witness for 1990 rumors and none knows the real mystery behind. Ashok Reddy’s experiment to bet on a safe point is appreciable. He lost the hold on entire premise with poor screenplay and very bad execution. Only positive from our side is, Ashok managed to keep suspense till the end. For any thriller-horror flick, it is obligatory to have goose bumping or spine chilling episodes ar frequent intervals which this flick is devoid of. So, it’s too hard to address ‘O Sthree Repu Raa’ in either of the genres. Instead, we can call it as a pathetic love story with tedious drama, weak writing.

Finally, ‘O Sthree Repu Raa’ stands as an underprivileged endeavor which can be safely given a miss. Commercially, first day is the end of its way. Cinejosh finds it hard to rate this ‘so-called-film’ but being customary, we go with 1.75 stars.

O Sthree Repu Raa Cinejosh Verdict: Just Intolerable!
