Terminating Kusuma Kumari from the post of Vice-Chancellor is a right step towards purgating corrupt officials in the State. Welcoming her dismissal from the Sri Krishna Devaraya University VC post, Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu said it was a good riddance.
Kusuma Kumari she should not have stooped down to such level to make money in every appointment. She amassed crores of rupees while being in a respectable position, the TDP chief added.
The former chief minister said similar action should be taken against the members of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board which is facing corruption charges.
Kusuma Kumari's services were terminated following the recommendations of Justice Hanumantha committee. The report stated that the V-C was involved in malpractices in the appointment of 29 professors of the university.
Kusuma Kumari, a professor of Telugu studies at Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalayam, Tirupati, was appointed vice-chancellor of SKU in August, 2008
