Engineering services and technology solutions provider Infotech Enterprises Limited (IEL) on Monday commenced operations from its new Special Economic Zone facility in Visakhapatnam at Rushikonda IT Park.
Launching the operations, Infotech Enterprises Limited Chairman and Managing Director B V R Mohan Reddy expressed happiness to set up a development centre in Visakhapatnam SEZ. As part of its strategy to expand operations in tier-II cities, Vizag came as the obvious choice due to availability of high skilled resources, its infrastructure and lower cost base compared to tier I cities.
''This development centre will add a new dimension to our operations in India in providing high value services to customers globally at competitive rates,'' Reddy added.
According to a press note, Infotech, which currently operates in five development centers in India - Hyderabad (Madhapur and Manikonda), Bangalore, Noida, and Kakinada, Visakhapatnam is the sixth development centre of Infotech, the first in SEZ and the second in a tier II town after Kakinada.
The Center, housed in a five acre campus on Hill 3 at Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam, has a built up area of 75,000 sq ft for accommodating 750 seats.
This facility currently will house 500 associates in the first phase. The new Center at Visakhapatnam would be working on delivering engineering services and solutions to Infotechs customers in the offshore and marine segments.
