New industrial policy on the anvil: Minister

Major Industries Minister Kanna Laxminarayana on Friday stated that the state government will announce its new industrial policy for 2010-2015 soon.

Talking to reporters after attending a high-level meeting with the officials concerned chaired by Chief Minister K Rosaiah at the Secretariat, he said the officials are giving final touches to new industrial policy.

He hoped the new policy would attract investors and entrepreneurs better than earlier policy.In the meeting, he said the Chief Minister directed the officials to increase the incentives to investors from 10 to 15 percent to attract the investments.

He also directed the officials to clear the entrepreneurs’ files fast.The Cabinet would meet on June 18 and take a final decision on the new industrial policy.After the Cabinet approval, the government would announce the new industrial policy for 2010-15, he stated.
