Telangana bandh today

Protesting the firing at Mahabubabad Railway Station in Warangal district during the Odarpu Yatra of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the Political Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Telangana called for a Telangana bandh on Saturday.

JAC convener Kodandaram told newsmen on Friday that the whole episode at the railway station was enacted at the behest of Konda Surekha couple. He criticized them for encouraging Odarpu yatra in the Telangana region although the Telangana leaders issued a warning to them.

“MLC Konda Murali is responsible for the police firing in Mahabubabad and for causing law and order problem in the region,” he said and sought action against the Konda couple.  

He said the Kakatiya and Osmania University Joint Action Committee’s have already extended their support to the bandh call.

Meanwhile, Osmania University students took out a rally protesting the police firing at Mahabubabad. They demanded Kadapa MP Jaganmohan Reddy to drop his Odarpu yatra in the Telangana districts and raised slogans against him.
