Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Wednesday directed the officials concerned and police to make arrangementsfor the supply essential commodities to the people in the curfew-bound areas in the old city.
Talking to reporters after chairing a high-level meeting with Ministers, police top-brass and other officials at the secretariat to review the situation in old city, he said that the curfew would be relaxed on Thursday if the situation remains peaceful.
“The decision regarding relaxation of curfew will be taken after discussing with officials concerned, Ministers and local leaders,” he said.
He directed the officials to supply all essential items like, milk,vegetables rice and pulses to the people in curfew-bound areas.
The traders are trying to exploit the s ituation by charging abnormally, on such people the government will tke sever action, the CM observed.
Municipal officials who are working in the curfew bound area will be issued with curfew passes so that their work will not be hindered.
The CM appealed to the locals, officials and leaders to cooperate with the police to restore normalcy in the city.
Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy who visted the strife-torn places said life was returning normal in the old city. “If the situation further improves, the government will relax curfew in a phased manner in a few areas,” she added.
