The communal clashes which flared up since Saturday evening in Hyderabad has forced the Central Minorities panel to depute a two-member team to Hyderabad to probe the causes of the clashes and also seek a report from the state government over the issue.
The National Minorities Commission has asked for a comprehensive report from the state government over the clashes. The panel also sought details of the situation in the state, the reasons for the flare-up, actions taken by the government and its plan of action to contain the crisis," NCM chairman Md Shafi Qureshi told newsmen here.
The Commission has taken a suo moto congizance of the matter in the state and is sending the inquiry team to Hyderabad and also tour the affected areas, meet the people and the state officials to take stock of the situation.
The team will also submit a report to the Centre after a detailed study. Qureshi said the panel would first wait for a report from the state on the issue, which has been sought by the NCM on Monday.
The team is also likely to visit Moghalpura, Shalibanda, Charminar, Aliabad, Falaknuma, Shamsheergunj and Lal Darwaja localities, where fresh violence erupted on Monday.
The situation on Tuesday remained tense after stone-pelting incidents in the afternoon in which two policemen were injured and several others were also hurt.
