Congress senior leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar gave an ultimatum till 1st March to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to take action against Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy.
Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, Ponnam said that the Chief Minister should dismiss Jagadish Reddy from the State cabinet and order a probe into the allegations of receipt of kickbacks from colleges to clear fee reimbursement dues. He said if the government fails to take any action by 1st March, then the Telangana Congress leaders would submit all details, along with proofs, to the Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau seeking action against the minister.
Ponnam claimed that he was having sufficient evidence to prove his charges and therefore, was not worried about facing legal action as threatened by Jagadish Reddy.
The Congress leader also urged KCR to get more railway projects and funds for the Telangana State. He said that the Chief Minister has been getting closer to the BJP Government at the Centre and he should utilise his relations to get more benefits for the State. Else, it would be viewed that KCR's proximity with the Centre was aimed at making personal gains and not for Telangana.
Ponnam also condemned the restrictions imposed on the entry of media persons in the State Secretariat.
