BJP National Executive Member Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Saturday criticised the decision of TRS Government to increase the fee of medical students in Telangana State.
Addressing a press conference at the Telangana BJP office at Nampally here, Nagam said that fee structure in neighbouring States has remained unchanged. While the fee in Andhra Pradesh Rs 5.5 lakh, it is Rs 3.5 lakh in Karnataka. However, he alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has given nod for the hike in medical fee after receiving kickbacks from managements of private medical colleges.
Nagam also accused KCR of adopting a confrontation attitude with the Centre only to satisfy his personal ego. He said while Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has got several sops from the Centre for his State, KCR did not get anything for the people of Telangana State. He said that the TRS has promised to supply power for eight hours to the farming community during the first three years of it coming to power. It promised 24 hour supply after three years. However, the government is not in a position to supply power even for five hours and KCR is hesitant to approach the Centre seeking additional power to overcome the ongoing crisis.
The BJP leader alleged that except for K Tarakarama Rao and T Harish Rao, all other ministers in KCR's cabinet are acting like rubber stamps. He also alleged that the ministers are not even authorised to discuss policy ministers with the officials of their departments. He said the authoritarian rule of KCR has brought the entire administration in Telangana to a standstill. He announced that the BJP would contest the Medak by-elections on the failure of TRS Government in the last three months.
Nagam said that the TRS Government has completely ignored the welfare of Scheduled Tribe in the State and the community even failed to get representation in the State Cabinet.
