BJP MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Tuesday claimed that amendments to the draft Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Bill, 2013, could not be made by the State Legislative Assembly.
In a memorandum submitted to Speaker Nadendla Manohar, Nagam objected to the Speaker's announcement seeking proposals for amendments to the draft AP Reorganization Bill 2013 by January 10th. He said that the Telangana Bill was a Central Bill and the Legislative Assembly could only express its views and amendments could be proposed and made only in the Parliament.
Speaking to media persons later, Nagam alleged that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and the Speaker were conspiring to conduct clause-wise voting on the Telangana Bill.
