Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao on Saturday slammed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for skipping the Congress party's 129th foundation day celebrations.
Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here, Hanumantha Rao said that the Chief Minister's absence from the party's foundation day celebrations would send a wrong signal among the entire rank and file across the State. He said that if the trend continues then even regular party workers would skip the foundation day celebrations from next year.
Hanumantha Rao said that Kiran Kumar Reddy became the Chief Minister only because he was a loyal party worker. He was it was incorrect to ignore the party's important functions.
Stating that AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi has announced his war against corruption, the Congress MP warned the Chief Minister against signing the files at his will. He said Kiran Kumar Reddy's actions might harm the party in next elections.
