The Chief Minister N kiran Kumar Reddy today announced Rs 50 crores towards relief works in Uttarakhand.

Kiran Kuamr reddy said that Rs 10 crores will be for Uttarakhand Government for rescue and relief works and Rs 40 crores will be spent through Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams for construction of “Pilgrim Amenities Complexes” at Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunothri, Gangotri (Chardham) costing Rs10 crores each.

The Chief Minister also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakhs to the families of pilgrims of Andhra Pradesh who lost their lives in the floods during the Chardham Yatra. This is in addition to the ex-gratia given by the Government of India and other agencies.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of rescue and relief operations for the pilgrims of A.P. in Chardham with the Chief Secretary Dr P K Mohanty and other senior officials at Secretariat, this morning. The Officials informed that the information on missing persons is being kept in the State Government Official website with photos and all details. The Ministers and Officials’ teams are working round the clock at Uttarakhand to bring back the left out pilgrims safely to the State.

The TTD was asked to workout proposals for construction of Pilgrim Amenities Complexes. This decision was taken after consultations with Kanumuri Bapi Raju, Chairman, TTD. Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia, House site and Employment for Kin of the Jawans. The Chief Minister has also announced Rs 5 Lakh ex-gratia each, House site at their native place and employment to the eligible kin of the Jawans Yadaiah of Mahabubnagar district and Vinayakan of Chittooor district who died in the Terrorists’ attack in Jammu-Kashmir and Helicopter crash during the Uttarakhand Flood Rescue and relief operations repectively.

Meanwhile the Chief Minister thanked the Uttarakhand Government for the help and assistance rendered for the stranded pilgrims of Andhra Pradesh. He reiterated that round the clock relief works will continue till the last stranded persons is safely returned.

It may be recalled here that the State Government has arranged special chartered flights from Dehra Dun to Hyderabad on 26th and 28th June, 2013 apart from issuing free air tickets and running a special train from Delhi to Hyderabad.
