Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Saturday once again made a statement in favour of Telangana State formation.
Talking to media persons here, the PCC chief expressed confidence that the UPA-II Government would find a permanent solution to the long-pending Telangana issue soon. He said that the government was working towards the protection of all interests of all regions before taking a decision on the bifurcation.
What is wrong with having two Telugu-speaking States when the Hindi-speaking people having more number of states? he asked. He appealed to all sections of people to observe restraint and patience before the Centre makes an announcement on statehood issue.
Responding on the Telangana March, he appealed to pro-Telangana activists to organise the March in a peaceful manner. He also denied reports the government gave permission to the March bowing to the pressure mounted by the Telangana ministers.
Botsa alleged that Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu addressed a letter on Telangana issue to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to get mileage on it. Suspecting Naidu commitment on people’s problems in his padayatra set to begin from October 2, he accused Naidu of cheating the people once again through yatra. However, the people would not believe his gimmicks, he said.
