Cong would have won more seats if Chiru given berth: MP

Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Saturday opined that the party would have won more seats if Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi was given a berth in the Union Cabinet.

Talking to media persons after offered prayers to Lord Venkateswara at the Tirumala temple during the VIP break darshan in the morning to mark Ashadi Ekadashi, Lagadapati Rajagopal said that the party drubbed in the hands of YSR Congress mainly due to sympathy factor over the arrest of YSR Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy by the CBI.

Rajagopal hoped that the party would have won more seats if star campaigner K Chiranjeevi accompanied in the Central Cabinet. He expressed confidence that the Centre would resolve the Telangana statehood issue by August.

The MP said that there would be no change in the leadership in the State before 2014 general elections.
