Former Congress minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Saturday asked the women Ministers in Kiran Kumar Reddy Government as to why they were not responding on allegations leveled by YSR Congress party honorary president Vijayamma and her daughter Sharmila against the Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the by-election campaigns.

Talking to media persons in front of the Congress Legislature Party office, Dr Shankar Rao asked the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana to send the women ministers for the election campaign immediately and rebut the charges against Sonia Gandhi efficiently. Though there are five women ministers, 16 MLAs and 4 MLCs in the government he asked as to why they were not efficiently rebutting charges against Sonia Gandhi.

Asking the women leaders of the party to take charge of election campaign, he appealed the Chief Minister to suspend the ministers from their posts if they fail to discharges their duties efficiently.

Dr Shankar Rao also demanded action against five tainted ministers against whom the Supreme Court issued notices for issuing controversial GOs favouring Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that he would file a petition in the Supreme Court if the government fails to initiate action against them.

He said that former Excise Minister Mopidevi Venkataramana, who belonged to Backward Classes community, was made a scapegoat in the Vanpic scam.
