Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Friday expressed concern over the prevalence of rampant corruption in the judiciary.
Talking to reporters before staging a silent protest before Mahatma Gandhi statue in Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation office, Rajagopal hailed the suspension of first additional Special Judge for CBI T Pattabhirama Rao, who recently granted bail to former Karnataka minister and mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy. Demanding serious action against the CBI judge, he appealed to High Court to probe further to find out the involvement of other persons in the bribery episode.
Rajagopal said that he was stating a silent sit-in protest to prevent corruption at all levels and to highlight the spreading of corruption like tentacles in all departments. As so many cases relating to corruption are pending in various courts in the State, he demanded that the judiciary act promptly and take serious action against the guilty to ensure that such acts do not recur.
