No confusion over candidates for by-polls, says Sailajanath

Primary Education Minister S Sailajanath on Saturday said that there was no confusion among party leaders over the selection of candidates for the ensuing by-elections in the State.

Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party office, Sailajanath stated that the Congress High Command would announce the final list of aspirants in the first week of May. Stating that the Congress was a national party, he said that the list of aspirants would be finalised after eliciting opinion of all leaders and analysing the winning chances of candidates. He said that the selection of candidates got delayed as there many aspirants for each constituency. Further, the identification of senior leaders and their contribution for the party has delayed the process.

Sailajanath expressed confidence that the people of the constituencies, who benefitted with the government schemes and programmes, would vote in favour of Congress candidates and elect them with a huge majority.

Responding to the controversy over his visit to China, Sailajanath said that he visited China in his personal capacity after getting official visa from the government.
