Telangana Rashtra Samiti president K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday dismissed reports that TRS would merge into the Congress for the sake of Telangana state formation.

Addressing the massive gathering in the 12th formation day celebrations of TRS at Vikarabad in Rangareddy district, KCR dismissed media reports as baseless and alleged that Seemandra media launched this malicious campaign to get mileage on it.

He said that the TRS would remain in the state even after formation of separate Telangana state.

Taking a dig at the BJP, KCR stated that the Telangana state formation would not be possible with the regional parties support as national parties have no prospects to form governments on their own at the Centre now.

He advised the suspended Congress MPs from the Telangana region to quit their party, if they have any self-respect, and join the TRS to continue their struggle.

Instead of honoring the promise given to Telangana people, KCR said the Congress party sacked their own MPs from the parliament for raising their voice on people’s demand.

Describing the suspension of MPs as insult to Telangana people, he said that this proves that the Congress has no commitment towards the Telangana state formation.

He announced that Vikarabad would be made as separate district in the event of formation of Telangana state.

He said that the TRS would make concrete efforts for regaining the past glory for Musi River, which was now totally polluted due to industries on the banks of river.

He also targeted the Telugu Desam Party for cheating the people of region in 2009 by adopting dubious stand on the statehood issue.

He appealed to party cadre to intensify their agitation for statehood without losing hopes and not resort to any extreme steps.
