Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Friday stated that the party would go to by-elections campaign with government schemes and programmes implemented for the benefit of people.
Talking to media persons after meeting Congress In-Charge of State Affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad, the PCC chief stated that the party would work unitedly and collectively for the success of party candidates in the by-elections being held in seven Assembly segments on March 18. He said that the `B’ forms for the party candidates would be issued on February 27.
Botsa said, "The Congress party will find solution for all problems being faced by the people including the Telangana issue," He said that the party would explain to Telangana people that Congress party would find a permanent solution to Telangana statehood issue. He said that the Telugu Desam Party’s ambivalent stand was responsible for the Centre delaying in the decision on Telangana statehood issue.
The PCC chief came down heavily on TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu for targeting him on liquor scam despite knowing well that he was not involved in it. Alleging that Naidu was among the most corrupt politicians, he asked as to why he was afraid of facing court cases and getting stay orders as if he was innocent.
Responding discussion on liquor scam in the state assembly, he said that Naidu was wasting precious time of House by not pressing for discussion on other important public issues. He alleged that Naidu forced the government to take up a discussion on liquor syndicate to get mileage on the issue.
Responding to disqualification of YSR Jagan group MLAs, he said the Speaker will take a decision at an appropriate time. He said that there was no link to victory or defeat of candidates in the by-elections and disqualification of Jagan group MLAs.
Botsa said that he has briefed Ghulam Nabi Azad over latest political situation in the State.
