After the successful Rytu Porubata in Karimnagar district, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu said that he would continue his padayatra on farmers’ problems in Warangal district on January 6.
He told reporters here on Saturday on the eve of the New Year that TRS was scared to accept the challenge of TDP to come for a public debate on who was responsible for the development of Telangana region.
“TRS managed to get only 11 Assembly seats in the 2009 elections despite getting TDP votes as per the TDP-TRS pre-poll alliance,” Naidu claimed.
Responding to Jagan’s move of keeping away from contest in Telangana region, Naidu said that Jagan conspired with TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao to weaken TDP in the region.
On YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy’s influence in Rayalaseema and Andhra regions, Naidu said that the people were with TDP. “You will see how Jagan will fare in the bye-elections in Seemandra region,” Naidu stated.
Slamming the government for its failure in containing rising prices of essential commodities and power woes, Naidu said the government has put an additional burden of Rs 10,000 crore on the common man.
Naidu demanded reintroduction of effective Lokpal bill in Parliament to curb corruption. “If the government comes up with effective Lokpal, the TDP will support it fully. Otherwise, the TDP will expose the Congress-led UPA Government’s designs to perpetuate corruption in the garb of making a law” Naidu said.
