Pro-Telangana activists on Thursday laid seize to the residences of several ministers, MLAs and MPs across the region.
Following a call by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee to stage protests in front of legislators who have not resigned from their posts for the cause of Telangana, the activists on Thursday staged massive protests before their houses.
In Mahabubnagar district, students and political activists 'gheroad' the residence of Union Petroleoum Minsiter S Jaipal Reddy at Madgula. The activists demanded that he resign from his post and participate in the agitation. The activists also held protests at the residence of Shadnagar MLA Pratap Reddy. They have also pelted eggs at his residence.
Protests were organised in front of Minister Sudarshan Reddy in Nizamabad. Describing him as a 'betrayer' of Telangana, the T-JAC activists demanded that he resign from his post.
In the State capital, the Telangana advocates organised protests in front of Labour Minsiter Danam Nagender's residence at Banjara Hills. They played 'chavu dappu', a band which is played during funerals.
Similar protests were held at Musheerabad MLA T Maniamma's residence at Banjara Hills. TRS activists led by former MLA N Narasimha Reddy laid seize to her house and demanded that she resign immediately. Protests were also held in front of the residences of Uppal MLA Rajireddy and Qutubullalpur MLA K Srisailam Goud.
Police took several Telangana activists into custody for staging these protests.
