Thousands pay tributes to YSR on 2nd anniversary

Thousands of people thronged YSR Ghat at Idupulapaya in Kurnool district to pay tributes to their beloved leader and former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy to mark his second death anniversary on Friday.

The family members – YSR’s widow and Pulivendula MLA Vijaya Lakshmi, son and Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, his wife Bharathi, sister Sharmila, son-in-law Brother Anil  Kumar and Kadapa’s former mayor Ravindranath Reddy and others placed wreaths at YSR’s Samadhi and observed silence as mark of respect to the departed soul.

MLAs Konda Surekha,Srikanth Reddy, MLC Narayana Reddy and others participated in the programme and recalled his services for the state. Hundreds of people also paid tributes to YSR at Pavuralagutta, where his helicopter crashed two years ago.

In Kadapa district, YSR’s brother and former agriculture minister YS Vivekananda Reddy took out padyatra from China Rangapuram to YSR Ghat in Idupulapaya along with his supporters as part of YSR’s death anniversary. Earlier, Vivekananda Reddy garlanded a statue of YSR at China Rangapuram before launching the padayatra.
