Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday claimed that he never amassed wealth through illegal means or corrupt practices.
Speaking at a seminar oganised at NRI Junior College at Kukatpally in support of social activist Anna Hazare's crusade against corruption, Naidu said he had maintained a clean record through his political career. He said he never indulged in any kind of corruption and did not favour any one during his tenure as the Chief Minister for almost nine years. He said he was open for any kind of probe, including a CBI investigation, into his assets.
The TDP chief also announced that his party would not give tickets to any tainted leader in the next general elections. Supporting Anna Hazare's crusade, he said corruption must be contained at all levels and all the political parties could discourage corruption by not giving tickets to people with tainted image and character.
Regarding the pro-Jagan Congress MLAs who have resigned from their posts, Naidu said none of the MLAs would be re-elected in case their resignations are accepted. The voters in their constituencies would reject them out rightly for supporting corruption and a leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who is presently facing a CBI probe for allegedly amassing wealth illegally.
