Senior leader and former Congress minister J C Diwakar Reddy on Monday appealed to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to take serious action against Telangana Political Joint Action Committee convenor M Kodandaram for making provocative speeches to mount pressure on the elected representatives in a bid to force them to resign.
Talking to media persons at Assembly premises, the senior Congress leader asked Prof Kodandaram to first resign from his post as a Professor in the Osmania University and set an example himself, before seeking the resignations of Congress leaders from Telangana. Stating that there was no uncertainty in the state, Mr Diwakar Reddy said the Ministers including the ones from Telangana region, are personally reviewing the files and doing their work without causing any inconvenience to people. Reacting to the Telangana statehood issue, the former minister stated that the state should remain integrated or if bifurcation is a must, the separate state should be made up of Telangana and Rayalaseema region. The seasoned politician further added that there was no need to present the views of Seemandhra leaders to the Congress High Command and expressed the hope that the Centre would take a decision on the issue soon.
