Chairman, 20-point programme N Tulasi Reddy on Wednesday made light of Ysr Congress Party president Ys Jaganmohan Reddy's comments that the ruling and opposition parties colluded to sling mud at the latter.
Reacting to the allegation of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy, Mr Tulasi Reddy stated that the former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy had in 2005 also favoured a CBI probe when the main opposition party, the Telugu Desam Party had alleged that his son Ys Jaganmohan Reddy was involved in the murder of TDP MLA Paritala Ravi in Kadapa district. “On what basis Mr Jaganmohan Reddy could say that the ruling party colluded with the main opposition to sling mud at him,” Mr Tulasi Reddy asked. “Instead of proving his honesty or clearing off the blame, the YSR Congress chief was trying to involve others in the blame game,” the Congress leader further alleged. Stating that the Congress party was not involved in filing the High Court 'case', Mr Tulasi Reddy asserted that the ruling party was in no way related to the CBI enquiry which was ordered by the High Court to check the irregularities in the land deals that took place during YSR's tenure. The said case was also not filed by the ruling party, he further pointed out. “The High Court Division Bench reacted following a complaint made by TDP leaders K Yerrannaidu, Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy and advocate Sherwani,” Mr Tulasi Reddy stated. Mr Tulasi Reddy was speaking to media persons at the Secretariat on Wednesday where he said that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy was trying to give an impression that he alone was the champion of the poor.
