Reiterating that Seemandhra Leaders are committed to integrated state, Health Minister DL Ravindra Reddy on Wednesday stated that the Seemandhra delegation would prevail upon the Centre and Congress Core Committee over the issue.
Talking to media persons after emerging out of a meeting with Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana at Gandhi Bhavan, Dr Ravindra Reddy expressed confidence that the Centre would decide to maintain the geographical status quo in the state.
Dr Ravindra Reddy however said that Rayalaseema leaders would opt for Greater Rayalaseema in the event of Centre taking an unfavourable decision on keeping the state integrated.
“I want to make it clear that I would stand by the High Command’s decision on the statehood issue, even if it is not to my expectations,” the Health Minister said.
He appealed to Telangana leaders to exempt hospital services from the proposed employees strike to be observed from August 17.
Dr Ravindra Reddy also hoped the Monsoon Session of the state Assembly and Cabinet Meeting scheduled for August would be conducted smoothly.
Responding on preliminary probe of CBI into YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s illegal assets, the Minister stated that, “the Law will take its own course.”
However, he denied that the Congress party is taking revenge against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and is targeting him.
