Grand conspiracy to divert attention from T struggle: Nagam

Accusing Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu of trying to divert the attention of the people from the growing clamour for a separate Telangana state by announcing his decision to introduce a No Confidence Motion, suspended party MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy said that the TDP chief’s moves are part of a larger conspiracy by Seemandhra leaders.

Talking to media persons on the Assembly premises on Friday, Mr Janardhan Reddy alleged that Mr Naidu was part of the ‘grand conspiracy’ set in motion by the Seemandhra leaders to divert the attention from the separate statehood agitation, which he said has reached a crescendo.

The suspended TDP MLA wondered why Mr Naidu had never earlier tried to break the tradition and name the TDP party’s candidates for the Speaker’s and Deputy Speaker’s posts.

He also wondered why had the TDP, in its 30-year-old history tried to break the tradition and put up candidates for the two posts, especially at a time when it did not have the requisite support.

Mr Janardhan Reddy answered his own questions by saying that the decision to introduce the No Confidence Motion and the subsequent decision to contest for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker posts were all part of a grand conspiracy.

This conspiracy, he said, is nothing else but to divert the attention of the people from the Telangana agitation which is nearing its peak.

“Mr Chandrababu Naidu has become a puppet, either willingly or unwillingly, in the hands of Seemandhra leaders. His moves are only benefitting the Seemandhra leaders and not Telangana,” Mr Janardhan Reddy stated.

The suspended TDP MLA continued his tirade against his former mentor, saying that Mr Naidu had done a volte-face on ever assurance he had given on Telangana.

“He may be making sympathetic noises towards Telangana, but his actions prove otherwise. What about the resolution adopted by the TDP in 2008 on Telangana? Where does he stand?” questioned Mr Janardhan Reddy
