TDP to introduce No Trust Motion: Babu

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday stated that his party has decided to introduce a No Confidence Motion against the N Kiran Kumar Reddy government for its ‘total failure to redress farmers’ problems.’

Indications are that the No Trust Motion will be introduced in the short two-day session to begin from Saturday, to elect the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker of the House.

Talking to media persons at NTR Trust Bhavan, Mr Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the government has not made any efforts to address the farmers’ issues despite the Opposition party staged dharnas and agitations to force it to fix the Minimum Support Price for paddy and highlighting the farmers’ hapless condition.

Considering the gravity of the situation as regards to the problems faced by the farmers, the TDP chief said that his party has decided to seek a No Trust Vote against the government.

If the government tables a Confidence Motion on its own, the TDP will issue a whip to is Legislators to vote against it, Mr Naidu said.

The former chief minister also stated that his party would create awareness among the people and the necessity of bringing in the No Confidence Motion against the inefficient government.

Reiterating that the TDP would continue its fight against corruption and black money in the country, Mr Naidu stated that the party would extend solidarity to Yoga guru Baba Ramdev’s hunger strike scheduled to begin on Saturday in New Delhi.

The former chief minister also alleged that the corruption was rampant in the United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre. “The Prime Minister has become mute spectator while corruption reigns,” he said.

Mr Naidu further alleged that the Prime Minister has failed to bring black money stashed abroad within 100 days as per the promise made in the election manifesto of Congress party.

Responding to Union Home Minister P Chidambaram claim that the Centre was not resorting to delaying tactics on the separate Telangana issue, the TDP chief stated that the Centre should attempt to obtain unanimity on the issue from all parties, while respecting the sentiments of the people of the region.

“It is duty of Centre to protect the interests of Telugu people and their culture and traditions,” he said.
