“Though poor farmers protested against takeover of cultivable lands by vested interests and also agitated for days together, but the state government hit them in their belly by allocating their land to Special Economic Zones in the name of development,” said N Chandrababu Naidu, Leader of the Opposition the Floor of the House on Tuesday.

Participating in the debate on land allocations in the House this evening, Mr Naidu said along with Brahmani steels, another company was allotted 750 acres and so far there had been no job generation.

For an exchange of a palatial retreat in Bangalore to YS Jaganmohan Reddy, his business partners were allotted prime land in Hyderabad for a song, the TDP chief continued. The investments made by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy were endorsed as black money by the income tax officials, he pointed out and added, “Still the government was sleeping and doing nothing.”

Mr Naidu’s exposure enraged Jagan loyalists like Konda Surekha who intervened and said they would not tolerate any allegations in the absence of their leader. Mr Naidu then showed why he is regarded as one of the shrewdest politicians by turning the tables on her and asking the Jagan group to clarify to which party they all belonged to. “People who have no morals are trying to block my speech, said he.

Stating that the Mr Jaganmohan Reddy-owned newspaper was casting aspersions against him, Mr Naidu said that he feared no one as already, there were 22 enquiry committees constituted against him. Even if hundreds of cases were foisted against him, he would not fear and he will try to expose the untruth and corrupt leaders, the TDP chief stated.

Stating that he did not commit any mistake while allocating lands during his regime, Mr Naidu stated that, that was the reason why he had demanded a JLC probe into the prime land deals made during YSR’s rule. He also sought immediate action against the corrupt persons.
