Rajya Sabha member and senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Sunday demanded that the government order Central Bureau of Investigation probe into assets and properties owned former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy in the wake of many allegations against him coming to light.
Talking to media persons after felicitating Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas who completed three years as PCC chief, the All India Congress Committee secretary stated the CBI probe would bring all facts to light over amassing of assets by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy from the time former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy took Oath of office.
Mr Hanumantha Rao demanded that the PCC initiate stern action against those who are violating the party diktat and damaging the image of party.
Lamenting that people who have attained high posts in the party were now resorting to anti-party activities, the senior leader said that such actions should strongly condemned.
The Parliamentarian also alleged that money power influenced the outcome of the recently held Legislative Council elections. “Money power and the fact that a section of ruling party members resorted to cross-voting hit the Congress, and damaged the chances of the official candidates,” the senior leader stated.
Mr Hanumantha Rao also had a word of advice to Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy. He said that she must look into the deteriorating law and order situation in the state before it is too late.
