CM talking 'rubbish' against Jagan: Ambati

Suspended Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary Ambati Rambabu on Tuesday lashed out strongly against Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for claiming that he had saved Kadapa leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy from the attempts by the Telugu Desam Party members to corner the former MP over the Paritala Ravi murder case in the state Assembly.

Speaking to media persons, Mr Rambabu stated that the Chief Minister has lowered the dignity of his office by talking ‘rubbish’ during the Racha Banda programme in Srikakulam on Monday.

The suspended PCC general secretary said that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy had attempted to show that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy was the brains behind Paritala Ravi’s killing and described this as unethical. He also said that the Chief Minister’s claim that he had ‘retrieved’ the former MP from the case was ridiculous.

Mr Rambabu said that the Chief Minister has no moral right to speak against the YSR family and asked him to withdraw his remarks immediately. “It is unethical to talk ‘rubbish’ and attempt to tarnish the family of one of the most-loved leaders during a programme ostensibly held for addressing the people’s problems,” he pointed out.

Upping the ante, Mr Rambabu demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation revisit the investigations in the helicopter crash which claimed the life of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy. He said that people have doubts about the helicopter crash, especially considering the fact that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy was not accompanying Dr YSR though he was scheduled to visit Nellore on that day.

He urged the CBI to interrogate Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy about the helicopter crash or otherwise the probe will be incomplete. 

Mr Rambabu further said the Chief Minister’s attitude and style of functioning reminded him of the famous poem `Kanakapu Simhasanamuna Shunakamunu Koorchundabetta………’ (making a dog sit on golden throne) as he was speaking against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy instead of focusing on the people’s problems during Racha Banda.

Responding to the notices issued by the High Court to against Mr Jaganmohan Reddy and his supporters about his amassing of assets, Mr Rambabu said the former MP would reply to the notices at an appropriate time.

He also charged that a section of the print and electronic media was targeting Mr Jaganmohan Reddy intentionally.

Stating that Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy was displaying a show affection’ towards YSR, Mr Rambabu pointed out that the kin of those who died of shock and committed suicide in the aftermath of the former chief minister’s death were not given compensation so far.

“If he had genuine love for YSR and his followers, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy should have disbursed compensation before YSR’s first death anniversary,” Mr Rambabu stated.
