Releasing a copy of his resignation letter to the media at CLP Office on Thursday afternoon, Mr Vasanth Kumar stated there was no change in his decision.

“There is no question of withdraw my resignation,” he asserted. However, he made it clear that, “I will continue as MLA and a loyal worker in the Congress party. I will extend my full cooperation to the government in the development works,” he stated.

Mr Vasanth Kumar staed that he would meet Congress president Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi and explain the reasons behind his decision to resign from the Cabinet within a day.

“I will abide by whatever decision Soniaji takes on my resignation,” he said and added that, “until my meeting with her, I will stay away from Cabinet meetings.”

He was conspicuously absent from the maiden Cabinet meeting convened by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the Secretariat on Thursday afternoon.
