Koneru Satish, who was alleged to have been involved in the rape and murder of B Pharmacy student Ayesha Meera on Wednesday said that the conviction of Satyam Babu over the case proved his innocence.
Grandson of former deputy chief minister Koneru Ranga Rao, Satish said that his name was unnecessarily dragged into the case. He blamed his family’s political opponents for taking advantage of the brutal rape and killing of the student and trying to defame his grandfather.
Satish also rued that his fingers were still raised against him even after the police had given him the clean chit.
Admitting that the police had also investigated his possible involvement in the case, he said that he had told the police at the height of the investigation that he was ready to undergo any tests if that would have helped in clearing his name.
Satish also claimed that he was willing to undergo Narcoanalysis Test to further prove his innocence.
