Simbu, although a Tamil hero with perfect mass image, he has grabbed enough craze even in Tollywood too. Keeping a side about his future in Tollywood, with ‘Vinnaithandi Varuvaya’ (Tamil version of Ye Maya Chesave), this hero is a changed star. With an awesome opening worldwide for this mass hero, now even girl fans who think him as a bit cross have started to treat him a poster boy.
Speaking to a channel on this image shift, Simbu still looked like Karthik in the movie. ‘Gautam Vasudev Menon is the most phenomenal talent in Indian film industry. The first time he narrated the story to me, I was bowled over by his love for filmmaking. The kind of exposure he has to life, music, performances and nuances is awesome. Right from the day I saw ‘Cheli’ (first day, first show on my birthday, February 3) as a 16 year old who bunked school to watch it; I have been hooked to his films. Ten years later, I watched Vinnaithandi Varuvaya in the same theatre. This is nostalgic and a dream comes true for me.’
Speaking about the closed relationship with Nayanathara, Simbu said he was still single and ready to mingle with any heroine.
