Non Bailable Arrest warrant on Pawan

A local court in Mahabubnagar district on Monday issued an arrest warrant against actor Pawan Kalyan, brother of film actor and Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi, for violating election code.

The court issued the non bailable arrest warrant against Pawan as he did not appear before it in connection with a poll violation code filed by an advocate in the Vanaparthi area of the district.

According to official sources, the actor is charged with making abusive remarks against the Congress candidate during campaigning for the 2009 Assembly elections.

Earlier, the local court and the High Court had quashed the case against the actor. Pawan Kalyan had at that time deposed before the Courts.

However, the lawyer once again filed the case in the Mahabubnagar court and it sent notices to Pawan a few months ago.

Monday’s warrant against the actor was issued after he had failed to turn up before the court despite the summons.
