Anil Arka, Viharika Chowdhary's Varadhi, a romantic thriller hit the screens today. Let us delve into what Vaaradhi directed by Manikala Sri Krishna offered to movie lovers.
Vaaradhi story revolves around how the lives of a happy couple change following an accident. Chandu aka Chandra (Anil Arka) and Nakshatra (Viharika Chowdhary) is a newly married couple. However their dreams of leading a happy married life takes a drastic turn due to unforeseen and unexpected incidents. What are those shocking incidents and how it is connected to Vinay (Prashanth Madugula) form the interesting part of the developments.
Anil Aka performed the role of the husband quite well. He showed good emotions and expressions showing variations accordingly as his life takes a drastic turn. Viharika Chowdhary did justice in the role of a wife showing her fears and apprehensions quite aptly. Prashanth Madugula impressed showing variations taking everyone by surprise. Ridhi is good in an important role. Others performed according to their roles.
Vaaradhi story penned by Sri Krishna is an emotional entertainer. He highlighted the love, romance, fears and apprehensions, misunderstandings of a newly wed couple and how they react when mysterious happenings takes place in their lives. He showed emotions quite well and he not only showcased the emotional scenes between husband and wife but also the romantic angle between them.
He got good output from the newcomers. There are few twists that interests viewers. He starts the narration in an interesting manner but everyone knows it is quite difficult to run the entire story over three important characters. Though the duration is over just over 2 hours, one gets a feeling that at times, the film is dragged.
He tried not to deviate from the main plot and after showing the intimate relationship between the couple and the misunderstanding, he comes up with the twists. The story is decent enough and screenplay and direction is ok. Should have added few more twists and turns to remove the predictability factor.
Shakthi CK showed the scenes in a captivating manner with his camera angles. Papa Rao KR's editing is ok but could have been better as there are many repetitive scenes that slowed the pace of the narration. The music of Sharukh Shaik is ok and background music is in sync with the story. Dialogues are ok. Production values are good.
Altogether, Vaaradhi turns out to be a predictable emotional entertainer. Sri Krishna penned a sincere story and narrated it creating few interesting twists and turns. Little fine-tuning of the script and doing away with routine and predictable elements would have added more value to the final output. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 1.5 rating for Vaaradhi.
