Udvegam (2024) Telugu Movie: Story Review

Udvegam story is all about a young lawyer who recollects his experience about a case when he goes to a law college as a guest lecturer. Lawyer Mahendra (Thrigun) shares his experience when he encounters a tough case with law students as a guest lecturer.

Lawyer Mahendra's (Thrigun) life turns upside down when he decides to take up the case of a rape accused who is named A2 along with the other three people Pawan, Teja, and Naresh. Trouble brews for him, as all the evidence is against the rape accused. Where this leads to and whether he will be able to save him and how he deals with the experienced public prosecutor Hari Prasad (Srikanth Iyengar), his mentor, senior lawyer Nagaraju (Paruchuri Gopalakrishna), Judge Ramachandraiah (Suresh Naidu) and how his girlfriend Ammulu (Deepshikha), react form rest of the narration.

Thrigun's Udvegam Movie: Artists Review

Thrigun came up with subtle and realistic performance. His body language is apt in the role of the lawyer and he showed good emotions and expressions. He delivered dialogues with ease and made his presence felt on the screen. Srikanth Iyengar brought up all his experience and elevated the scenes with his impactful and powerful performance. His dialogues are hard hitting and powerful.

Suresh Naidu made his presence felt as the judge and his one-liners left everyone come up with a smile in the serious drama. Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Siva Krishna are good in their roles. Deepshikha performed well in the role of a young girl. Others performed according to their roles.

Thrigun's 25th Film Udvegam: Technicians Review

Udvegam story readied by director Mahipal Reddy is a hard-hitting message oriented court room drama. Mahipal started the narration in an interesting manner and the court room proceedings and the consequences faced by the young lawyer when he decides to fight for the rape accused is shown in a natural and realistic manner. The first half sails off smoothly with Mahipal staying away from any commercial elements like special songs, romantic songs and forced comedy. Even the comedy he used involving judges and advocates looked real. The Telangana slang in the dialogues added value to the proceedings.

The second half starts from where the first half ended. The director worked hard to maintain the intensity levels intact. Though with the passage of time, one gets a repetitive feelings with the dialogues and proceedings in the court but the pre climax and climax once again takes the film to another level. The first half screenplay is racy and the second half hits few roadblocks but they are just minor.

Dialogues are thought-provoking and soul searching and sends good message to the society. He got the optimum out of Thrigun and Srikanth Iyengar and others supported them well.

Jeswin Prabhu's editing is ok. It could have been better as there are few repetitive scenes. He should have taken care of the second half in particular. Karthik Kodakandla's music is ok and his background music is decent. It is in sync with the storyline. GV.Ajay Kumar's cinematography is good. He showed the court room atmosphere in a gripping and impactful manner. Production values could have been better.
