Artists, Technicians Review

Director Mallik Ram stayed true to the original when remaking FLAMES, the popular web series. However, he beautified the web series by adding Telugu flavor to it. Rajamundry's backdrop to the story made it interesting and entertaining. He started off in an interesting manner and continued in the same manner for the first three episodes. The first three episodes showcased the feelings and emotions of the youngsters and their reactions when they get attracted to the opposite sex.

Mallik Ram highlighted friendships, relations, how the equations change when in love, and also highlighted the conflicts that arose due to jealousy. He also showed the youngsters relations with the parents and teachers in an interesting manner. Dialogues are attractive, impactful, and entertaining. They are witty but at times turned overdramatic. For all the fun, entertainment and seriousness, and different shades of emotions, the last two episodes did not offer much turning out to be predictable. The ending too turned out to be routine with a hint that the web series will have another season.

Nikhil Devadula did well in the lead role and the same is the case with Harshith Reddy. Payal Radhakrishna looked good, cute, pretty, and attractive. However, she did not get much scope to perform. Raman Bhargav acted well as the strict father and teacher. At times, however, a few of his dialogues like ' life is not a joke' turned repetitive. Bindu Chandramouli is impressive in her brief appearance. Snehal Kamat did well as Madhu, with her tomboyish acts.

Monish Bhupati Raju's cinematography is beautiful and attractive. He showed the Rajamundry atmosphere in an entertaining and captivating manner. Music and BGM are good and one gets a nostalgic feeling listening to Rahman and Ilayaraja's hit songs. But one should make sure that they do not overdo that as one may tend to think that music director lacks creativity and originality. The editing is good but could have been better especially in the last two episodes.

Rating Analysis

Mallik Ram's Tharagati Gadhi Daati has all the youthful, romantic, and entertaining elements but small conflict points and lack of real twists and turns prevent it from making a powerful impact. Considering all the points, CJ goes with a 2.5 rating for the web series.
