Sodara (2025) Movie: What's Behind

Burning Star Sampoornesh Babu failed to replicate the success of his films Hrudaya Kaaleyam and Kobbarimatta. He is now testing Good luck with Sodara. Sodara OTT rights are yet to be finalised and will be announced at the later date. Let us see what the film which is releasing on 25 April,  offered to movie lovers.

Sodara (2025) Telugu Movie: Story Review

Sodara story is all about two bothers and their bonding, love and affection and how they overcome the obstacles and hurdles involving beautiful girls.

Brothers Chiru (Sampoornesh Babu) and Pawan (Santosh) share good bonding since longtime but their lives take a drastic turn with the entry of beautiful girls Divi (Prachi Bansal) and Bhuvana (Aarti Gupta). Where this leads to and how it is connected to their parents (Babu Mohan) and his friend Madhu (Getup Srinu) form rest of the developments.

Sodara (2025) Movie: Artists Review

Sampoornesh Babu attracts with his antics. Known for his hilarious performances, Sampoornesh Babu came up with good expressions and emotions and delivered dialogues with impact in the sentiment and emotional scenes. Sanjosh performed well in the role of Sampoornesh Babu and he got equal and at times more screen presence than Sampoornesh Babu and he did justice to his role.

Aarti Gupta looked good on screen and she is fine with her performance. Prachi Bansal looked homely and came up with okayish emotions. Babu Mohan did well in the role of the father and he made his presence felt with his vast experience. Getup Srinu evoked few laughs. Baba Bhaskar and others performed according to their roles.

Sodara (2025) Movie: Technicians Review

Sodara story is penned by Manmohan Menampally. Manmohan tried to showcase the bonding between brothers and he chose a rural backdrop. Right from the start till the finish, the narration assumes a predicable tone and the scenes offered nothing new. The entire fast half drags to the core and the scenes many of them looks silly and outdated ends up testing the patience of the viewers giving them a feel that serials would have been better.

When the first half ends, viewers heave a sigh of relief. The second half continues in the same vein but the screenplay and narration pics up pace. It goes in the monotonous and uninspiring manner and in the leadup to the pre climax and climax, few comedy scenes evoke little laughs. The preclimax is loaded with emotions and this generates interest among movie lovers. Here the brothers bonding is highlighted and this turns out tobe the core point. Finally the film ends giving no joy to the viewers.

Director chose a good point but he dragged the film with weak screenplay and direction leaving viewers irritated. Dialogues are just ok and the actors just went through the motions.

Sunil Kashap's songs failed to register and they are just ok. His background score is good and is in syc with the story. Cinematography of Jaan showed the village rural and rustic atmosphere in a natural and realistic manner. Shiva Sarvani's editing left a lot to be desired. There are many scenes that dragged the pace of the film, testing the patience of the movie lovers. Production values are just ok.

Sodara Movie: Advantages

  • Sampoornesh Babu, Sanjosh
  • Few Emotions

Sodara Movie: Disadvantages

  • Predictable Plot
  • Snails Pace

Sodara (2025) Movie: Rating Analysis

Altogether, Sodara turns out to be the routine entertainer highlighting bonding between brothers. Sampoornesh Babu, Sanjosh performed well but the director Manmohan Menampally came up with an outdated story. The narration turned out to be flat and screenplay offered nothing novel robbing the viewers of the gripping experience. Racy screenplay, reworking on the script would have helped in the betterment of the final output. Considering all these elements, Cinejosh goes with a 1.75 rating for Sodara.
