What's Behind

Kiran Abbavaram, Chandini Chowdhary's romantic entertainer Sammathame hit the screens on June 24, 2022. The film directed by Gopinath Reddy attracted all with the feel-good title. The romantic elements excited all and let us see whether Sammathame impressed viewers.

Story Review

Krishna (Kiran Abbavaram) since his childhood dreams of getting married and goes in search of a traditional girl of his liking. However he fails in his mission, and suddenly he meets Sanvi (Chandini Chowdhary), a modern girl with a modern outlook on life. Though he gets pulled towards her charms, her broad mindset and modern thoughts, act as a hindrance. Where their relationship leads should be found out watching Sammathame on screen.

Artists, Technicians Review

Director Gopinath Reddy tried to entertain viewers with a romantic flick. He started the story in a decent manner but within no time his screenplay and direction loses direction. Everything goes haywire with uneven narration and the preachy dialogues impacted the film in a big way. He failed to elevate the conflict angle and as it turned unidimensional, interest decreased. Everything turned out cliched with the passage of time and the cast just passed through the motions. After a point, the director ran out of ideas and the entire second half became a tedious watch.

Kiran Abbavaram who did mass roles most of the time tried a romantic and soft roles in this film. He tried his best and at times performed well. However, he has to work a lot on his expressions and emotions as he looked out of sync and failed to connect chords with the viewers. Chandini Chowdhary performed well and she looked on screen. Sapthagiri evoked a few laughs and others performed according to their characters.

Sekhar Chandra's music is good. The editing of Viplav Nyshadham could have been far better as the slow pace ended up testing the patience of the viewers. Production values are ok.

Kiran Abbavaram, Chandini Chowdhary's Sammathame directed by Gopinath Reddy was expected to entertain Genex movie lovers. But the director came up with a routine story and as he failed to execute his concept on screen due to his amateurish screenplay and silly direction, the film turned out to be a tedious watch bringing back memories of the 80s. Considering all these aspects, CJ goes with a 1.75 rating to Sammathame.
