Artiste OTT rights are yet to be finalised and the makers will be confirming the details at a later date.
Artiste story revolves around a murder and whether the criminal perfected the art of murder like an artiste.
Vicky (Santosh Kalwachela) lives a happy life along with his lady love Jaanu( Krisheka Patel) and his sister Bujji aka Swathi (Swathi Madhuri).
However their happy life takes a shocking turn and where this to and how it is connected to a psycho Ravi (Kaalakeya Prabhakar), cops Prakash (Satyam Rajesh), Sudarshan (Sudarshan), Jaanu parents Surekha (Sonia Akula), Ravindra (Vinay Varma), form the rest of the narration.
Santosh Kalwachela is good with his performance. He showed the right kind of expressions and emotions and brought variations accordingly.
Krisheka Patel is ok with her looks amd she came up with a decent performance on the screen.
Kaalakeya Prabhakar looked menacing on the screen and showed the intensity in his expressions.
Others like Vinay Varma, Tanekella Bharani, Bhadram, Thaagubothu Ramesh, Sudharshan.P, Kiriti, Venky Monkey, Sonia Akula, Sneha performed according to their roles.
Artiste story is penned by Ratan Rishi. Ratan Rishi started the narration in an interesting manner introducing the criminals and police. When viewers expected him to take the narration to next level, the screenplay and direction losses pace as he introduces the hero, heroine love track and bother sister sentiment.
The entire first half is loaded with extreme emotions and sentiments and director concentrated on elevating them rather than thrill viewers with twists and turns. With the passage of time, the scenes turn more and more silly and ridiculous.
The first half ends with the predictable plot setting the tone for the second half. The second half doesn't offer anything new with regards to the story, screenplay and direction and also with respect to the performances. The protagonist and the antagonist tests the patience of all with the monotonous expressions. Finally, the film ends in a routine manner.
Suresh Bobbili's music is situational. Songs are emotional in sync with the story. His background music elevated the scenes and increased the curiosity levels.
The editing of Vishwanadh Kuchanapally is ok in the first half. He could have done away with the few drags.
Chandu AJ with his Cinematography added life to the story. He used the camera angles to create the realistic feel to the viewers.
Dialogues are ok and production values are good.
Altogether, Artiste turns out to be a predictable crime thriller. Director Ratan Rishi tried to blend the story not only with the crime elements with intense emotions.
To some extent he emerged successful but this acted as a double edged sword. The lack of twists and turns impacted the narration greatly. The convoluted screenplay only complicated the matters.
Considering the above aspects, Cinejosh gives 1.5 rating for Killer Artiste.
