Hometown webseries story revolves around a lower middle class family and how the parents try to realise their dreams of giving better life and future to their children.

Prasad (Rajeev Kanakala) runs a photo studio and he is ably supported by his wife Devi (Jhansi). Prasad works relentlessly to see his son Srikanth (Prajwal Yadma) fly to USA and get his daughter Jyothi (Annie) married and give them a better life. However fate has other plans and where this leads to and how it is connected to Srikanth's friends Jaggu aka Jagadish (Sairam) and Shastri (Anirudh) form the interesting part.

Rajeev Kanakala slipped into the role effortlessly. The role is tailormade for him and he elevated the scenes with his subtle acting. he came up with natural and realistic expressions elevating the scenes. Jhansi played the supporting role of wife quite well. Thoiugh she got limited screen presence compared to Rajeev Kanakala, she made her presence felt.

Prajwal Yadma performed his role quite well. He showed youthful exuberance that is suited for his role and made an impression. Sairam as one of the friend, with his mannerisms and expressions evoked few laughs in an otherwise a bit serious drama. Anirudh is fine in the role of other friend.

Annie just like Jhansi got limited screen presence but she did well emoting and expressing herself well and helping in taking the narration forward. Others performed according to their roles.

Hometown Telugu Web Series: Technicians Review

Hometown story penned by Srikanth Reddy Palle is nothing new and is extremely simple. Many such stories came earlier and he chose to play safe and tried to take viewers into the nostalgic ride to their childhood memories.

The story resembles that of the 90s webseries and followed similar trope with father trying his best to give better lives to his son and daughter and seeing his son fly to US and get his daughter married and make them settle in life. the webseries is of five episodes named Cricket Worldcup ,Weekly Magazine, Love, Facebook and Fly.

Srikanth Reddy tried to include hilarious scenes in all these episodes and to some extent it works out in the first episode and more so in Facebook. The second episode had some adult jokes and one feels that it is not required. The episode Love offers nothing new and after all these episodes, one gets a feeling that Srikanth decided to end the final episode Fly in a hurry. The final episode stands out with good emotions and connects chords with everyone but people get disappointed to see the hurried climax.

Story turned out to be simple and screenplay is just ok and direction is decent. The editing of Carthic Cuts is just ok. The narration turned out to be slow and there are many repetitive scenes that slowed the pace of the narration and the editing department did not pay attention to it. Suresh Bobbili's music in the title song is situational and background score is in sync with the plot. The cinematography of Dev Deep Gandhi Kundu showed the rural locations in a rustic and natural manner. Production values are decent.

Altogether, Hometown turns out to be predictable message oriented entertainer. Rajeev Kanakala performed realistically in the role tailormade for him and director Srikanth Reddy Palle got the output required for the story from the cast and crew. The story is simple and he added few hilarious scenes and also came up with the message in the end that added value to the narration. Few more hilarious elements and entertaining screenplay would have helped the webseries. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 2 rating for Hometown.
