Naveen Chandra known for his different genre entertainers is coming to entertain movie lovers with a romantic thriller titled 28 Degrees Celsius. 28C OTT rights will be finalised at a later date as the makers are holding discussions with the OTT partners and the deal will be finalised soon. The film is releasing on 4 April and let us see what impact it made on movie lovers.
28 Degree Celsius aka 28 C story revolves around a girl who suffers serious injury to her brain and how it impacts the life of her and those surrounding her and the mystery around it.
Medicos Karthik(Naveen Chandra), Anjali (Shalini Vadnikanti) fall in love after a few incidents, but their lives change drastically after shocking developments. To find out those developments and how it impact the lives of Karthik and Anjali and how it is connected to Professor Subramaniam (Jayaprakash), Karthik's friends (Viva Harsha, Priyadarshi), and Police Officer (Raja Ravindra) form the rest of the narration.
Naveen Chandra tried to sport a different look. He worked hard to do justice to his role. He performed well with in his limitations showing the pain and grief of a person who loses his wife and also as a youngster who works hard to win over his love. His screenpresence and body language is good and he delivered dialogue with ease emoting it perfectly.
Shalini Vadnikanti got average looks but she at times expressed effectively with her eyes and thus impressed all. Priyadarshi evoked few laughs and so did Viva Harsha though their roles are just routine and predictable. Jayaprakash and Raja Ravindra got limited roles and they did accordingly.
28C story is penned by Dr.Anil Vishwanath. He tried to thrill viewers with the romantic and thrilling elements. The title also generates interest and also the premise excites all. However, he starts the narration in a simple and predictable way with two medicos falling in love and the aftermath incidents. Except for a few feel-good romantic dialogues and a couple of routine comedy scenes, the first half offered nothing much except for a reference to the apartment.
From the start of the second half, the film takes a completely different turn altogether. The romantic shades disappear and the thrilling and weird elements are highlighted making viewers wonder what the director is up to. But even that the director failed to show it convincingly. The repetitions in the second half, including the weird elements and the routine shades marred the film's overall output.
Director Vishwanath came up with an interesting plot, but failed to do justice to it completely. He tried to touch to different medical disorders and tried to correlate both of them but couldn't do it convincingly. A little research regarding the same and doing away with monotonous elements would have helped the film's cause.
Sricharan Pakala's background score is soothing, but the songs tuned by Shrawan Bharadwaj failed to make an impression on the viewers. Garry BH's editing left a lot to be desired. There are many repetitive scenes and frames that end up testing the patience of the viewers. Vamsi Patchipulusu's cinematography turned out to be just average. He could have added even more value to the scenes with his talent even more. Dialogues at times, are impressive and touch the emotional chords. Production values are good.
Altogether, 28 C promises to be a different flick but fizzles out ultimately. Director Anil Vishwanath tried to come with a romantic thriller and while he filled the entire first half with romantic elements, he suddenly shifts in the second half trying to include thrilling elements. In his quest he failed to do justice to either of them and everything turned silly and half-baked. He should have worked on the script before proceeding ahead with the project. Considering all these aspects, Cinejosh goes with a 1.5 rating for 28 Degree Celsius.
