Ap Government headed by Jagan Mohan Reddy long has been trying to tame Tollywood through various means. Till sometime back his government targeted Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan's films Vakeel Saab and Bheemla Nayak and in the process ensured that the entire industry suffered. Finally, he relented to some extent after stalwarts like Chiranjeevi, Rajamouli, Prabhas, Mahesh Babu, and others prostrated in front of him. However, he did so with a rider.

It is known that the Ap government is keen to sell film tickets only through a government-run portal and Allu Aravind's son Allu Bobby got the contract to do so. But the government preventing theatres to sell tickets came as a huge shock to everyone. It is known that High Court is hearing the case and earlier questioned the Ap government and said that it has no right to decide on the ticket rates in the theatre.
