Natasimha Balakrishna's high octane action entertainer Akhanda directed by Boyapati Srinu created a sensation at the box office. Though plagued with the reduced ticket rates in Andhra Pradesh theatres and covid fears, the film left all stunned by breaking many records. What surprised analysts are the film entered into the million-dollar club and thus became the first in Balakrishna's career.

The talk of the sequel of Akhanda went on for some time and people started forgetting about it. Producer Ravinder Reddy spoke about the Akhanda sequel and even Balakrishna and Boyapati Srinu talked about it. In the meantime, the film's content and Balakrishna's performance as Aghora, and the spiritual dialogues captured the imagination of North movie lovers after the film started streaming on OTT.

From then on they started demanding the film be dubbed and released. In the midst of all this, it is coming out that Boyapati Srinu is planning to turn the Akhanda sequel into a bigger one and release the film at the pan India level. Boyapati is set to team with energetic hero Ram and is also in talks with Allu Arjun. But sources say he is keen to cash into the Akhanda craze by coming with the Akhanda sequel sooner than later.
