The other day, Mohan Babu posted an open letter in which his ambition of becoming an 'Industry Pedda' has been revealed. Alas! there's no one who takes his letter seriously. Of course, a flop producer C Kalyan, who has been idle for the past four years, extended his support to Mohan Babu. A few more faded out filmmakers may also collaborate with Mohan Babu.
But then, why is the industry taking Mohan Babu's letter so lightly? It's due to the super flop history of Manchu heroes. Moreover, they have no active films in handy at the moment. Checkout the flop history of Manchu heroes.
Mohan Babu: Mohan Babu's last biggest hit Pedarayudu was released 27 years ago. Thereupon he delivered a few averages and above averages like Sri Ramulayya. His 2014's Rowdy was a successful venture. And that's the end of Mohan Babu's hit films history. Interim he acted in many flops and super flops. Currently, Mohan Babu has just one film Shakunthalam in which he plays just a guest role.
MANCHU VISHNU: Manchu Vishnu's last solo hit 'Denikaina Ready' hit the screens in 2012. Although he scored one or two hits later, they were multi-starrers such as Eedo Rakam Aado Rakam and Rowdy. His ongoing production venture 'Son of India' appeared to have gone to shed.
MANCHU MANOJ: Manchu Manoj appears not so interested in films. It was almost five years since he was last seen as a solo hero in films. He has no solid super hit in his kitty. His Gunturodu, released in 2017, stood as above average grosser.
COLLECTIONS OF MANCHU FILMS: Mohan Babu's industry hit Pedarayadu, released in 1995, collected Rs.12 crore share. Thereafter, no film of Manchus appeared to have collected the share of that extent. Particularly, every single film of Manchu heroes collected less than Rs.1 crore share barring a few hits which collected around Rs.2 cr or Rs.3 crore worldwide share.
BOTTOMLINE: Given the super flop history of Manchu heroes, somehow, it appears, this family stands number one in delivering maximum number of flops in the history of 89 years of Tollywood.
